Position Summary

Assists in conducting and reporting the results of audits of the Credit Union’s activities to safeguard the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control systems and compliance with existing policies and procedures.


Pay range for this hourly position is $17.04 - $25.56 with a progressive benefits package. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs essential duties and responsibilities in the following areas which may include but are not limited to those listed and are subject to change.


  1. Adheres to the Credit Union's core values and Service Standards in carrying out GreenState's mission and vision.
  2. Demonstrates positive member service (internal and external) focus at all times, greeting members and guests with a smile and eye contact immediately upon their arrival, using their name or acknowledging them, and thanking them for their business.
  3. Demonstrates teamwork in all interactions with coworkers and in the completion of all duties and responsibilities.
  4. Ensures confidentiality of member information.
  5. Supports a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  6. As directed by the SVP/Corporate Oversight, assists the Senior Internal Auditor or Internal Auditor in audit scoping, performing audit fieldwork and following procedures detailed in audit programs within established time budgets. 
  7. Adds value to the audit process by incorporating analysis of efficiency, sales and service into audits of each department or unit audited.
  8. Meets with the SVP/Corporate Oversight and departmental leaders to discuss findings and recommendations.
  9. 9Assists in the monitoring and analyzing the adequacy and effectiveness of corrective action taken on audit findings and assists in presentation of written reports to the Audit/Risk Management Committee.
  10. Maintains audit work papers to evidence all audit work performed and the material facts supporting the conclusions reported, subject to review by the SVP/Corporate Oversight or Senior Internal Auditor.
  11. Aids in formulation of procedures and plans for internal verifications, controls and audit trails to be incorporated into the Audit Manual of the Credit Union.
  12. Assists in the monitoring of state and federal regulations as needed and acts as a resource for staff on questions of compliance with state and federal regulations.
  13. Under the guidance of the SVP/Corporate Oversight or Senior Internal Auditor, aids external auditors and state and federal examiners by preparing work papers, gathering requested documents and providing information on credit union activities as requested.
  14. Assists with branch and departmental audits as directed by the SVP/Corporate Oversight.
  15. Performs other temporary or permanent duties as assigned by the SVP/Corporate Oversight.
  16. Plays a vital role in enriching the community by participating in community service organizations and/or credit union sponsored events on an annual basis.

Job Requirements/Expectations

  1. A Bachelor’s degree with 6 -12 months’ work experience in a financial institution or other related industry; or an Associate’s degree with 12 – 24 months work experience in a financial institution or other related industry.


  2. PC proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook required.


  3. Broad knowledge of credit union products and services.


  4. Skilled in human relations with the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.


  5. Must be a motivated, self-starting individual with a focus on detail-oriented projects.


  6. Reports to work punctually, works all scheduled hours, and works overtime as necessitated by business demand.


  7. Must be bondable

Reporting Relationship

Reports to Senior Vice President/Corporate Oversight.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position is not responsible for supervision of other employees.
