Position Summary

POSITION SUMMARY:

Design, implement, and continually evolve a comprehensive risk control self-assessment program to evaluate, identify and monitor strategic, reputation, credit, liquidity, interest rate, compliance and operational risks within multiple business units. Prepare detailed risk control self-assessments by investigating and analyzing business unit processes, procedures, and internal controls. Recommend risk mitigation strategies, as necessary. Additionally, this position will support the Compliance Management System (CMS) Program by designing and implementing business change risk assessments for new and/or modified product/services and provide feedback to the appropriate business unit(s).

Salary range for this position is $90,593.36 - $105,914.12 with a progressive benefit package.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs essential duties and responsibilities in the following areas which may include, but are not limited to those listed and are subject to change:

  1. Adheres to the Credit Union's core values and Service Standards in conducting GreenState's mission and vision.

  3. Demonstrates teamwork in all interactions with coworkers and in the completion of all duties and responsibilities.
  4. Ensures confidentiality of member information.
  5. Supports a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  6. Performs other duties as may be required to meet Credit Union objectives.
  7. Design, implement and evolve a comprehensive risk control self-assessment program to evaluate, identify and monitor strategic, reputation, credit, liquidity, interest rate, compliance and operational risks within business units throughout the Credit Union.
  8. Conducts detailed risk control self-assessments and/or evaluations, collects and analyzes documentation, statistics, reports and market trends, to monitor the effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, programs, underwriting criteria, business workflows and business systems.
  9. Evaluates risk levels and implications; recommends risk mitigation strategies, as necessary.
  10. Adheres to the Credit Union's established Risk Taxonomy.
  11. Prepares and provides detailed written risk control self-assessments and business change risk assessments, evaluations and reports along with risk mitigation strategies, as necessary.
  12. Participate in meetings with internal partners to discuss risk control self-assessment and business change risk assessment results and risk mitigation strategies.
  13. Design, implement and evolve business change risk assessments for new and/or modified product/services, as part of the Compliance Management System (CMS) Program.
  14. Prepares and provides summary reports and risk assessment for the Board of Directors.
  15. Works collaboratively with internal business units to review and approve access requests, changes to monetary limits and changes to permission levels to key Credit Union core systems.
  16. Assists Vice President/Risk Officer on various projects as requested.
  17. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements/Expectations

  1. Two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study or certification in related field and a minimum of five years of financial industry experience with a credit union or bank in a compliance/risk related role.
  2. Knowledge of regulatory, state, federal and agency rules, regulations and requirements.
  3. Experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) software preferred.
  4. Strong research and analytical skills.
  5. Initiative-taker and ability to work independently and collaborate when needed.
  6. Ability, availability, and willingness to work additional hours as demanded by the workload.
  7. Ability to prioritize, organize, and process paperwork accurately and efficiently.
  8. Ability to work with multiple priorities and to work under and meet deadlines.
  9. Ability to solve problems independently and maintain control in high stress situations.
  10. Ability to operate related computer applications.
  11. Ability to deal tactfully and efficiently with employees, members, co-workers and vendors in a professional manner.
  12. Effective and strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  13. Ability to use a personal computer and related software including Word, Excel, and other software

 

Reporting Relationship

Reports to the Vice President/Risk Officer.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position is not responsible for the supervision of others.
