Position Summary

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the development, administration, and maintenance of a holistic organization-wide Physical Security Program to ensure the physical safety of Credit Union personnel, members, and visitors in all facilities and the protection of property and assets. Partners with the Executive Leadership Team, department leaders and other Credit Union personnel to ensure compliance associated with regulatory laws and best practices/guidance. This position serves as the Credit Union Security Officer and is the primary contact for law enforcement and emergency service personnel to ensure proper emergency planning and communication.

Salary range for this position is $119,078.70 - $139,216.74with a progressive benefit package. This is an onsite position located in North Liberty, IA

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Performs essential duties and responsibilities in the following areas which may include but are not limited to those listed and are subject to change.
  1. Adheres to the Credit Union's core values and Service Standards in conducting GreenState's mission and vision.
  2. Demonstrates a positive member service (internal and external) focus at all times.
  3. Demonstrates teamwork in all interactions with coworkers and in the completion of all duties and responsibilities.
  4. Ensures confidentiality of member information.
  5. Supports a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  6. Responsible for development, administration and maintenance of the Credit Union Physical Security Program and ensures it is administered as written in conjunction with various departments including but not limited to Human Resources, Information Technology, Retail Enablement, Regional Managers, Internal Audit and Compliance and Risk. · Maintains a strong understanding of financial institution requirements for staff training on Physical Security in accordance with the Bank Protection Act. ·
  7. Maintains a strong understanding of financial crimes, loss prevention, and associated industry and geographical trends impacting financial institutions and the financial services industry by attending conferences, seminars, and webinars related to Credit Union Physical Security and developing/maintaining an external professional network.
  8. Develops Physical Security Training for Credit Union new hires as well as annual Physical Security Training for existing Credit Union personnel.
  9. Serves as the first point of contact and makes decisions concerning security issues of members engaged in threatening behavior or actions towards GreenState personnel and property.
  10. Serves as the primary contact for law enforcement / dispatch centers during external and internal investigations. Includes sharing video footage requested by law enforcement personnel.
  11. Develops and maintains appropriate Physical Security-related equipment and devices at branch offices, cash tracking devices, burglary alarm configuration, etc. Makes decisions as to the strategic planning of devices needed, device placements, and conducts training for branch personnel on device operations and procedures. Coordinates with Facilities and Information Technology as necessary for implementation.
  12. Ensures positive working relationships with external Physical Security-related vendors.
  13. Reviews and approves invoices for purchasing and installation of security devices necessary for asset protection.
  14. Responsible for gathering personal items of personnel who are relieved of duty and returning personal items to the address provided.
  15. Monitors security camera systems for internal and external suspicious behaviors.
  16. Trains personnel on Physical Security processes and procedures including but not limited to fire drills, tornado drills, active assailants and robberies.
  17. Collaborate with Human Resources personnel on drafting Physical Security-related narrative in the Employee Handbook.

Job Requirements/Expectations

  1. A minimum of an Associate degree, Bachelor degree preferred, completion of a specialized course of study, or completion of an extensive company training in Physical Security.
  2. Ten years’ experience in law enforcement or a related field.
  3. Reports to work punctually, works scheduled hours, and works overtime as necessitated by business demand.
  4. Strong interpersonal and persuasive skills to represent the Credit Union in a positive manner during periods of stressful member contact.
  5. Interpersonal skills necessary to gather data from several internal and external sources and to positively represent the Credit Union during such contact.
  6. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines with a commitment to service.
  7. Ability to prioritize assignments, organize work efficiently and manage large volumes of details.
  8. Ability to work independently.
  9. Accuracy and attention to detail required.
  10. Ability to operate related computer applications and office equipment.
  11. Must be bondable.

Reporting Relationship

Reports to the SVP/Enterprise Risk Management.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position is not responsible for the supervision of others.
